BBC Somerset Christmas Special

"A Christmas Celebration: Our Christmas celebration from St Mary Magdalene Church, Taunton."

I was invited to join the celebration, performing 'The Little Holly Tree' as a duet with Steve Pledger and then 'The Wessex Carol' with my harp! What an incredible evening it was too, in the huge and beautiful church to an audience of 500...a night i'll not forget in a hurry! Thank you Emma Britton for such a lovely opportunity. x

“If you listened to the other folk show that goes out on a Wednesday evening Mark Radcliffe just said exactly the same thing as I’m about to say now, but I’d already decided what I was going to say about this song, so: when you listen to it, you think “well, that’s a nice old traditional song that Ange has done a great version of” but actually she wrote it very, very recently herself. So it’s actually an original song. You don’t get very many original Christmas songs nowadays, most people just rework all the old stuff.

It’s a lovely little single,  it’s got three tracks on it and I’m going to play all three tracks from the now which is a first on radio – I don’t think anyone else has played all three tracks in a row yet.

It’s a delightful song. To me it just screams out “this is Christmas, Christmas starts right here”.

“What I love about Ange is, and I’ve mentioned this before about the Lament of the Black Sheep, even with the single the packing is lovely. I love the sleeve notes. It’s everything we love!”
