Recording 'The Lament of the Black Sheep' ~ Day 16 in the studio

Wow, what a long day! We managed to finish all of the edits today but only just, we finished the day with a mix of the first song and as we are now out of time, we have just 1 day to mix the 13 remaining tracks! (It is at this point that I am grateful for a very precise engineer who mixes, levels and trims as he goes, almost as grateful as I am that this is a folk album and not a rock album with lots of instruments and drums to mix!)

The pressure is indeed high as we have just half an hour to compress, EQ, pan and export each of the tracks!!! It can be done but it will be an epically intense day.

So, how am I feeling about my new album?

Well it's not perfect. That would take years and given that I'm an artist and therefor a perfectionist (it's probably not actually achievable), and I would like at least a day (minimum) per track for mixing (and we only have half an hour!).

That said... and even with me being a perfectionist...

... it's not too shabby at all ;)

In fact I'd go as far as to say, it's at least 99.9% better than anything I've ever done before or anything I'd ever hoped it would be and I'm really rather proud of it!

I just can't wait to hear what you all think now!

Right... I had probably best make a few mixing notes before the morning, see you on the other side!
