Recording 'The Lament of the Black Sheep' ~ Day 4 in the studio

I am sat here listening to the first 5 and a half tracks of my new album and I can honestly say: this is better than anything I could have hoped for, we have so far managed to capture these songs exactly how I heard them in my head, there are sounds coming out of me that I didn't know I was capable of (good ones, except for the bit where I got the hiccups...).

Today has been AMAZING. We managed to do a very complex 'outro' to one of my songs 'The Tilling Bird (Marsh Daisy)' and completed my guitar and vocal parts for 'The Gamblers Lot' and 'The Wanting Wife' so we are almost ready for my incredible guest musicians who will be joining me, one a day from Friday until next Thursday.

I've been spoiled with steak and ale pie, cheesecake and red wine this evening so all of those hours running from the mic to the mixing room will sadly not have had any effect on the waist line but I am very much enjoying being looked after, I had a glass passed to me as I walked through the door, dinner on the table and my plate taken when I was done! So this is how it feels to be my husband! ;)

We are hoping to get a photographer to the studio in the next few days so there will be some photo's to follow but for now... want to hear a little teaser from the studio today? See the video below!

Enjoy!
