Oxford Folk Weekend - Concert with support from Òkina

Sunday 23rd April 2017

Celebrated by The Telegraph as “one of Britain's top folk musicians" for her five star 2014 album “The Lament of The Black Sheep" Ange Hardy has grabbed the attention of the traditional folk music world by writing new material and embracing modern technologies whilst maintaining a traditional feel.

Òkina is an amorphous selection of musicians from Oxford who create intricate music which combines folk, jazz and electronica. Vocal harmonies, greek bouzouki, guitar, drums, upcycled sounding objects and various other percussion instruments come together in a vibrant ensemble of sounds.

Access details: Ramp access to the foyer of the church, and level access throughout, including accessible toilet. Stewards will be able to direct you to a quiet space if you need one, and a small pop up tent will be available if you wish to enjoy the music from a more sheltered environment. This concert will be amplified.
