Live like me
After a living in the country for most of my life you can imagine my awe at the site of Dublin city as a teen, once I returned to Devon and Somerset I soon realized that I was indeed destined to live in the countryside. This again was confirmed on a recent trip with Rob, we spent a weekend in London, it was my first trip to London and even after experiencing Dublin I was shocked at how fast and inconsiderate life there seemed to be, as we watched a parent coach his child on how to use the tube “just keep pushing, put your elbows out...that's it now don't let anyone past till you're on” I couldn't help but wonder why everyone wouldn't wanna 'live like me'!
Lyrics
What a pity all the people in the city
can't see past their lives
got smoke in their eyes
smog made them all blind.
What a shame to see them pushing on the train
like they ain't got no pride
why you all have to fight
just get on and ride.
I don't see why you wouldn't wanna live like me.
What you thinking every time you go out drinking
and you're walking around
through your own concrete town
skipping cracks in the ground.
What you feeling when you know you're needing healing
but you don't know quite how
does it make you frown
bring your whole world down.
I don't see why you wouldn't wanna live like...
All the people who aren't scared to nod and say hello
all the people who take time to stand aside and let you go
people you could get to know...
What a pity all the people in the city
can't see past their lives
got smoke in their eyes
smog made them all blind.
What a shame to see them pushing on the train
like they ain't got no pride
why you all have to fight
just get on and ride.
I don't see why you wouldn't wanna live like me.
